Happily Here to Serve

Will my extended health benefits plan cover the costs of therapy?

Many insurance plans cover therapy services by Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC). However, you’ll need to check with your insurance provider to confirm if your policy offers coverage for a CCC.

Direct billing is available for insurance providers affiliated with TelusHealth eclaims. This includes many of the common insurance providers such Canada Life, Manulife, Pacific Blue Cross, Alberta Blue Cross, and more. Please check with your insurance provider to confirm.

Each individual session is $165 and 50 minutes in length. Please note, career counselling sessions may have additional fees if psychometric testing/reports are requested. If so, these fees will be discussed with you beforehand.

No, as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) offering online therapy I work with residents across British Columbia and Alberta.

Currently, I only offer online sessions for individuals. However, if you’re based in Victoria, BC and would prefer in-person sessions in the future, please feel free to reach out. In-person sessions will be available in the future.

Clients come to therapy for different reasons and durations— for just a few sessions, for long-term support, or on an as-needed basis. Everyone’s circumstances are different and we offer support based on your individual needs and goals.

I work with youth (12+) and adults but I don’t work with children under 12.

If you’re interested in online or in-person arts-based workshops for your organization or business, please get in touch through my contact form. Be sure to include some details about your organization, team size, and the specific outcomes you’re hoping to achieve.

I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology (University of Calgary) and a masters-level diploma in Art Therapy (Vancouver Art Therapy Institute). I am also a member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association.

Finding the right therapist can be a challenge, which is why I offer a free 15-minute consultation call. This gives us the opportunity to connect, get to know each other, and see if we’re a good fit to work together. If it turns out we’re not the right match, I’m more than happy to refer you to another therapist or provide you with a list of resources to help you find someone who aligns better with your needs.

If you’re in crisis or need immediate support:
– Call 9-1-1 for immediate danger or emergencies.
– Call or text 9-8-8 for 24/7 help from the Canadian Suicide Prevention Service

You are welcome to email me between sessions if you have any scheduling questions or requests. However, personal information will need to wait until our next session.

I utilize a range of therapeutic approaches including client-centered, art therapy, career counseling, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative processes, such as drawing, painting, or sculpture, to help individuals explore their emotions, improve mental health, and express feelings that may be difficult to put into words. No artistic background or skills are required. However, you’ll need access to some art-making tools such as paper, pen, markers etc. Or, if you prefer working digitally that works too!

Career counseling is a process that helps individuals explore their education, career and, retirement options, clarify their goals, identify their strengths and interests, and develop strategies to make informed decisions about their professional path.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based, mindfulness approach that helps individuals stay present, break free from unhelpful thought patterns, and take action based on their core values.
